State of Austin Galano Club

It is with great pleasure that I present an overview for the 2025 operations for the Austin Galano Club (AGC).

This is the first year since the pandemic that AGC did not need to hold an End of Year Fundraising Drive to keep operations afloat—an incredible milestone. Even more, we remain in full compliance with our Prudent Reserve requirements while continuing to control expenses and make meaningful improvements to the clubhouse. Many of you may have noticed some of the new furniture and other improvements e.g. new chair rails!

This year we were also blessed with two generous donations totaling more than $13,000. We extend heartfelt gratitude to Home Slice Pizza and the United Court of Austin. Their belief in our mission is reflected in their remarkable support.

Throughout 2025, many of you participated in Community Health Nights, Open Mic Nights, Spring and Fall Cleanings, Día de los Muertos, PRIDE booths at Peace Park and Austin PRIDE, the PRIDE Parade, ACC “Return to School” events, and our wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas potlucks. AGC continues to offer diverse opportunities to connect, grow, and enjoy sober living while strengthening our collective wellness. Also, our meetings have grown this past year to be 62 meetings offered during the week and approximately, 1,000 people coming through our doors weekly.

AGC needs you. This past year we operated with three fewer board members than required to meet our minimum of twelve. There are many ways to serve, and we invite you to consider becoming a board member. Elections will be held on Sunday, January 25, at 3:00 PM.

To qualify as a board member, you must:

1. Have three (3) years of continuous sobriety or recovery, and

2. Be a current AGC sustaining member (monthly or annual).
