The Young and the Restless

The Young & the Restless is an open, LGTBQIA+ affirming meeting of young people in Alcoholics Anonymous. We welcome everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, including (but not limited to) lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, and agender people and allies. Since we are an open meeting of AA, those not specifically addicted to alcohol are welcome as well. The meeting features a 10-15 minute speaker followed by open discussion on the topic.

Our meeting was started to give young people a safe place to go to on Friday nights to hear experience/strength/hope, to fellowship, and to share in the solution. We discuss how the steps have helped us to overcome our addiction to alcohol, and how they continue to help us to navigate our ongoing struggles in sobriety.

Please note that although we are officially a “young people’s” meeting, we don’t card – all are welcome regardless of age!

We meet at Friday, 9:00-10:00pm CDT in the lounge of Austin Galano Club. Group conscience meetings are held after the meeting on the last Friday of the month.

In accordance with the 6th tradition of Alcoholics Anonymous, The Young & the Restless is not affiliated with Austin Galano Club.
